No screens or specialist knowledge required.

Sequence daily routines together. Talk through the steps of getting ready in the morning or preparing a meal in order. Ask your child: “What comes first? What happens if we skip a step?” This builds algorithmic thinking naturally.

Play pattern games with everyday objects. Begin a simple pattern for your child to continue: red, blue, red, blue; big, small, big, small. Gradually introduce more complex patterns as confidence grows.

Try the “human robot” game. Take turns being the robot and the programmer. The programmer gives step-by-step instructions (“take two steps forward, turn left, stop”) and the robot must follow them precisely.
